What Happened at the Fall Conference?

For starters…

Over 200 people enjoyed a full day of science staff development from teachers, vendors and government agencies such as NASA.

This included a very popular Forensic Science seminar at UCO’s Forensic Science Institute. Dr. Dwight Adams, the Institute’s Director doubled at the conference keynoter.

Participants were also able to visit with a wide variety of  state and national vendors, including Skulls Unlimited, the Moore-based company that has become the world’s leading supplier of osteological specimens.

Conference participants were also able to engage in the business of OSTA.  Over $800 was raised through the silent auction to fund awards for student researchers at the state Science Fair.

The annual elections resulted in new officers to the OSTA Board of Directors and approval of revisions to the OSTA Constitution.  The newly elected officers are: Treasurer – Toni Ivey, OSU, Middle School Director – Joyce Cheatham, Pawnee, College Division Director – Julie Angle, OSU, District II (NW) Director – Bethany Lorenz, Putnam City Schools, District IV (SE) Director – Kay Gamble, Ada Schools, and District VI (OKC  Schools) Director – DeAnn Deason.
