This Week’s JodyGram

Colleagues,

I wanted you all to know that there are even MORE changes in the works here at the State Department of Education Office of Instruction. I have resigned my job as Science Director/Co-Director of Instructional Technology. I was already moving out of Science and into Technology if you hadn’t heard.

For those of you that know me, my passion in education has long been in science, but I’ve also been a serious learner in the area of Instructional Technology. The administration here at the department felt my strengths were better utilized in the area of Instructional Tech and I agreed. I accepted the posting of Co-Director of Instructional Technology about a week and a half ago.

A couple of weeks prior to that discussion here at SDE, an opportunity to work at Southern Nazarene University as an Instructional Designer presented itself to me in their brand-new Title III Online Learning Center. I say presented itself in that, I was offered an interview. I interviewed and yesterday was offered the job. Being an SNU alum, I jumped at the chance to get even more involved there on a full-time basis. Some you may know that my wife is on faculty there and we are class sponsors of this year’s Junior Class. We spend a significant amount of time as members of that community. I’m not a fan of how the timing of all of this turned out, but who knows why things work the way they do? Certainly not me.

I will be leaving my posting here at SDE as of January 5th, 2012. I am available by email between now and then. I’m booked for Professional Development and vacation between now and then, but if you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask.

If this email finds you about to leave for the holidays, I hope you have a wonderful, well-deserved few days off. If this email finds you returning from a well-deserved few days off, Happy New Year!

If there is ever anything I can do for you, please contact me at jody@jodybowie.com. I’ll always have that email, no matter where I work!

Thank you all for your support while I’ve tried to find my way in the job of Science Director. I appreciate the work that each of do every day.
