Tulsa STEM Expo Coming March 7th

The purpose of the Expo is to expose Tulsa’s youth  to the exciting and engaging world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and to ignite their interests and motivation for these disciplines. The theme for this year’s Expo is  “Preparing Tulsa’s future STEM workforce”, a reflection of our belief that Tulsa’s future will require workforce that is highly trained professionals in the STEM disciplines, we want to get students engaged in early age and keep them in STEM pipeline, set them to become successful STEM professionals.

Details. To accomplish the primary goals of the Expo, activities have been developed for participating students, teachers, and the general public. Participating students will work with their teachers and/or mentors to prepare a demo that they will present to the public at the Expo. Presenters will be judged by volunteers from local universities and industries and winners will be given prizes (e.g., IPods, etc.). Teachers of students who make award winning presentations will be recognized and will receive awards. The general public will see presentations by local industries and universities that include applications such as solar energy, robotics and the like. There will also be door prizes.

When and Where. The Expo will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Tulsa Expo Square . The event will run from 9 am to 2:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
